World Venture a scam?

Posted by FeliciaZoe | Friday, June 14, 2013 | Category: | 0 comments

Here's a piece of advice to those who wants to travel cheaply , without tours and ready for an adventure then i can tell you world venture isn't the total cheap deal.

WorldVentures is a United States privately-owned network marketing and lifestyle company, specializing in leisure discounts in means you have to pay some kind of membership fee and earn by enrolling friends/ others into it.

Well, for those whom prefer getting good deals for a 4 -5 star hotel, travel in a group of like 5 above , being inflexible ,fickle minded  and have a comfortable vacation then you might not prefer my advice instead.

Also,If you are keen to make money while travelling with friends and keep up in those kind of marketing schemes, enjoying tours like how normal people do... see popular tourist attraction, relax in hotel, stay with the same group of friends or relatives without knowing how the true life of the people living in the country. Then my advice wouldn't be appropriate for you.Again, I cant claim it as a scam but as a personal opinion and being able to travel to many places, I realized that there are much cheaper ways of travels.

SO here's some of my tips to travel cheaper than what that would be able to offer you !!

TIPS 1 # How to BOOK CHEAP FLIGHTS

As for flights, if you want cheap flights,

1* Keep updated with all the cheap airlines- ( Cebu Pacific, JetStar,Malindo Air, Raynair,AirAsia etc)
2* Know when are the discounts and be ready to go through the night clicking like crazy times and willing to wait as the network page might be down or overloaded. ( of course, click the cheapest ! the cheapest we have was Cebu pacific during their sales for 1php and total Rm60 return KL - Philiphines)
3* Willing to plan it ahead a year - Bookings a year ahead and be sure you will definitely be free that period.
4*Lastly, make sure your credit card is still working  and be sure the details you enter is confirmed !!!

TIPS 2# How to get CHEAP Accomodation

RESEARCH ONLINE !
I recommend Travel wikipedia ( it states the prices and discounts in much details)

As for accomodation ,
For well develop countries, Korea, Japan , Singapore ,Europe,Norway etc
Do some online research as there might be discounts for trains, hotels(agoda.com, etc), Hostels ( Hostel bookers.com)
or Try COUCHSURFING.COM( Whereby you get to meet hosts and make new friends abroad)- read here to know what couchsurfing is
http://feliciazoe.blogspot.com/2013/05/couchsurfing-vs-backpacking.html )

-For instance, Korea tourism provides free buses from Seoul - Jeonju daily. Yet you have to book it online in advance and its not avail during public holidays.

-As for Japan, sometimes they do have bus discounts from Tokyo- Osaka which might be the same price from Gotemba to Nagoya which is a shorter distance.
As for cheap train tickets in the city, some places like Osaka- Namba they have shops that provide cheaper train discounts- about RM3 discount cheaper

-Norway's normal train ride from Oslo to Bergen would cost at least RM400 - However, if you have planned earlier, book it online and might get it 70percent discount cheaper. There are also discount for cruises from Oslo to Kjeil(Germany) sometimes which cost about RM200++ for 3 days 2 nights.

Now , as  for those not develop countries... Indonesia, Vietnam etc.

You know how cheap these places can be but there isn't a fix price somehow and you always worry about being cheated ~
So, Just BARGAIN !!!!!

Most online tours are over highly charged as locals ( Indonesians) would not pay tours. For instance the hike to Lombok, Mt Rinjani costs us RM300 per person including accomodation etc but then , a local friend told us they only paid RM100 per person, Again , you might have to go through a crazy hassle to bargain with many of them or go through their poor public transport or rented motorbike.

Then again, its your choice to go through such adventure or just relax and let the tours handle as the feeling of bargaining and feeling cheated might be tiring for some others.

For accomodation in Lombok- Gilli trawangan, our most decent hostel ( it's actually a chalet, nice open air private bathroom and 2 bed cost RM30 per night ) After bargaining and that was the cheapest we could ever found though.
However in Ubud Bali, the cheapest was Rm15 per night ! Well, every places would surprise us. We had our indonesian friend to buy us 3 mangos and it costs Rm1.60 for all 3 ! ~
And from the lombak mainland to the gili island, I found out that locals pay RM3 per way for the ferry whereas we pay Rm30 inclusive ferry and van to Kuta Lombok~
*I suppose being with my Ang Moh bf would be the reason of being cheated all the time even though i could speak bahasa ~

Vietnam on the other hand was a total couchsurfing experience ! Thus, I had vietnamese hosts with me all the time to translate for me and it was a great experience as they ride me on their bike and fetch me whereever i wana go ! Btw I did a hair wash and treatment in a Vietnamese house for RM10 and had a tailor made gown for Rm150. Most of the further tourist location i went were bought through tours in vietnam itself costing about Rm25 ++ for the trip to Chuchi tunnel and their vase making factory.Whereas in Hanoi was  Rm40++ for the trip to Hoa lu whereby the Vietnamese row the boats with their legs. Awesome experience  !
* In Hoalu, I got ripped off RM50 for a can of redbull and some crackers as i was confused with the currency. So beware, at the end where they row, some lady in boats would try to sell you some stuff, give the minimum amount as they would not give change back nor tell you how much it costs* I complaint to my tour guide and he went to ask the boat ppl and he came back being yell and scold by those people. I felt so sorry for him though.

Last tips ! # NEVER MISSS YOUR FLIGHT !

If you forgot to book your hotel / hostels its okay, as long you get there, survival skill is definitely needed !
Remember dont be afraid to ask and learn some of their language.
First thing first when you arrive either airport, train station, bus station, whatever location go to the TOURIST information centre ! Get their map and ask for advises then you are ready to go !
Dont worry about asking the locals, they are always nice and helpful if you have a smile on your face ;D
After all, it's the people that forms the country, try interacting with them and you might be surprise how humanity kindness could be ! They will be the ones that might make your travel much more meaningful !

If you have more questions, just comment below or find me on my facebook ! :D
SO WHAT? Start planning your next trip now !!

I would be going back to Norway soon and will be updating more then !
Other than that,do keep updated as later in September im heading to Phillipines, Taiwan and most likey Japan again ! - Okinawa Island !!!!!!

So, this website would bring us to finding out who we would like to meet up or stay with when we travel out of our country. For instance, we had tried Couchsurfing in Norway ( Bergen and Stavanger), Korea ( Seoul, Gyeongju, Busan,Jeju island and Jeonju), Japan ( Osaka, Hokkaido, Tokyo , Kamakura, Gotemba, Nagoya, and Kyoto )

So, how do you start requesting to stay or meet up with your host?
Step 1: Create an Account !  Complete your profile details
Step 2 :  Search for the location you are going to  eg : Busan,Korea
Step 3 : Look for a host~ Read their profile ( Check for their positive /negative comments !)
             - Most of all check their couch and availability for how many person !
Step 4: CLICK  Send CouchRequest to XXX !
-Fill up the dates you're arriving and write down an Awesome introductory of yourself !
               eg:
Introduce yourself and explain a bit about your trip:
Hi!
I'm Felicia a special-effect Makeup Artist from Malaysia (Zombies!)! and I would be travelling with my boyfriend Christian- Journalist from Norway  to JAPAN ! We will arrive in XXX around April 10 and plan to stay 1-2 nights. Christian has been to Japan 3 times before and Loves it so much he always keeps coming back!  Yet, this would be my first time to Japan and it’s my dream come true !!!!
We are planning to stay Japan 4 weeks and will be visiting Osaka, Sapporo, Hakodate, Tokyo, Fuji/Hakone, Shizouka, and Kyoto! We are non-smokers,  clean and tidy couple which respects all kinds of culture. Energizer bunny , That’s us !  Cause we would walk a lot or even hike to take awesome photos and will be still able to dance and sing( karaoke!!) to entertain you after that ! Nevertheless we would love to share our crazy travelling experiences as well as my Chinese Malaysian culture( Food!!!)  that is in contrast with the Norwegian culture !  Most of all, we are super bubbly and friendly couple with a Bright smile always on our face that will light up your days ! You won’t regret hosting us !

Tell your host why you'd like to meet them:
( READ THEIR PROFILE Before writing this !!! )

EG : Hey HUGO !
I can't believe Norway would be your dream country to visit ! Felicia and Christian.

Step 5:SEND ! And wait for reply ~

PS : Some would take weeks to reply you so please request for more hosts instead  ~

Alright~ This thing we would usually send a month before our trip and would plan and organise our travel location beforehand.

Alright ~ Now let's compare Backpacking Alone Vs Couchsurfing ( CS)!

To Contribute something to the place to visit -    CS
To build friendship with others -                         CS
To challenge my abilities                                Both

To experience once in a lifetime activities    CS

To attend special events                              CS

To gain experiences to share with family and  friendsCS

To explore other cultures

CS

To increase my knowledge
CS

To interact with local people
CS
To dip into the local life                CS

To travel on a low budget - Both

To travel for as long as possible - Both
To organize one's own journey
-Both

To get off the beaten track-Both

To be free, independent, and open-minded
Backpacker

To discover myself -
Backpacker

Get to know locals through meetings (e.g. language exchange)

CS
Attending a typical folklore event

CS
Attending ceremonies      CS

Meeting friends/relatives of the host/local -CS

Bottom line, if you seek for self improvement, self knowing , independence and solitary , I would recommend backpacking ~
Instead for those whom are sociable and love culture, people and making friends ! Do join couchsurfing and even if you're not interested in surfing, you could just "PoP' up some event or meetings held in the particular country and make new friends and locals ! Who knows, you might even meet the love of your life !

Any questions regarding this ~ just pop a comment or msg me privately on my facebook page ~ :D  All the best !
Couchsurfing has made all my travels amazingly awesome ! So much more to talk about our CS experience in Japan ! We got to stay in a traditional Ninja like house and even a restaurant behind a hidden wall !

So, stay tuned for my next update about our crazy adventure in Japan !

So sorry for the late update as I had been busy these weeks !

Rambling about Politics~

Posted by FeliciaZoe | Friday, May 3, 2013 | Category: | 0 comments

Hi Guys~

I had never shown interest in politics before nor even read much of the newspaper.
However, as I first stepped out into the world and start my own travelling journey , I realised so much , compared so much and yet come back to Malaysia feeling home and relief.

When I travel and meet strangers or made a new friend , I would always tell them to come Malaysia and EAT our food and see KLCC and experience some gorgeous tropical nature we have. I would always brag about how talented our people are and unique in our ways as we speak of different languages and of different skin colour and yet are able to communicate in an extremely unique way.( A mixture of different languages in a sentence ~)

Then again, meeting strangers and knowing more about their country brings sadness into me as I slowly realise that we do not have any equality.
Being proud to be a Malaysian, yet sad to be categorised as a "Chinese" Malaysian as we are low prioritised in benefits from properties till education. We were taught to strive for the Best as we were told that there is a tough competition for our race. In the end, most would just give up and accept the fact whereby we aren't the special race that deserves that. In the end, most would just be a hypocrite and place the anger towards the government on that particular race. In the end, we are just lazy to bother about what Changes we could make in order for our future generations as we are just afraid of the change or maybe used to such inequality.

Another thing that worries me is the increasing amount of crime rates here . Thanks to Facebook, being updated instantly of all the crime issues just reminds me of back then my grandma got robbed in Subang Jaya. Since then, I would always carry my handbag other way when I walk along the street and be cautious when I am alone. It has then became a habit like I'm some soldier in the war..  got to be alert!
Well, the sad thing that polices here that I've encountered only asked for bribes and my number.
Do we have to live in such fear and get use to such situation and also allow our future generation to face such in future? Life isn't like this in other countries. Our country produces Oil and so as Norway. Norway is bigger than Malaysia geographically, has the amount of population approximately similar to Singapore and are able to provide wealth to all the people so their people are able to survive. Their country is beautiful but yet they always need to fix their roads and railway yearly due to the harmful winter. Their people needed more food and clothes to survive winter. And of course overall they would need a higher expenditure to survive compared to us whereby we got cheap food , good weather and less clothes to wear. We can even survive without aircond ! So , why should we suffer ? Why do we still have more poverty than them?
Think about where all our hard work tax have gone to?
Then think again if they have not gone to the wrong hands, instead to the poor, to better education and those whom serves our country, will we have to fear of those crimes again?

Of all of these years, our great grandparents went through so much and yet fooled by the eyes of our media.
Thanks to internet, information is free and most would know and even some secrets from years back were revealed. How can we still trust under such government ship which empowered us for many years ?

Bottom line, the decision lies individually and I hope and pray for the Change and for the better - Our Beloved Malaysia.

Back from Japan !!!

Posted by FeliciaZoe | Monday, April 29, 2013 | Category: | 0 comments

We are BACK from JAPAN at last !!
It has been a month travelling along parts of Japan which started from OSAKA !
In order to experience both season - Spring and Winter ~ We took a flight to Hokkaido to experience the thick snow and crazy cold weather there !
Well , it was super worth it !
Especially having a Hot Onsen (Hot spring) Bath amongst the snow.
Here's how an onsen look like -mostly in resorts. They have indoor and outdoor and costs around 800- 1500Yen

One experience I would never forget !

Here's some highlights of of journey that we are super proud and would love to SHARE with you guys ~

Travelling a month would definitely cost a lot in Japan , yet to be honest,
we spent less than two thousand dollars on our whole trip including our shopping etc here !

Of course, we did not follow along where the sakura went and just HOPE where we ended would have Sakuras and to our surprise, we were at the RIGHT time and the best Sakura we saw had the BEST View
-Kawaguchiko Lake-
Full Bloom Sakuras , Lake and Fuji Mountain~
Splendid view !!
Our bus from Gotenba there took only half hour but yet costs about 20 dollars !
We even tried hitch hiking- with the tumbs up method ( but failed )
So, we asked the locals around instead and that method of Hitch-hiking worked !

The Man that made my childhood dream come true ~

Here's now in Noboribetsu- Hell Valley
Most people would just walk around the hell valley area which smells like Sulfur..
Just like the two peeps behind me !   What a jump SHOT! ;p
Whereas, we could rent boots FOC to walk in the snowy hills~

And reach to this natural FOOOT SPA !!!
Natural River Onsen~
Yet, the water is kinda blackish muddy~ Not good for swimming ~
Here's in Murouran, at a fishermen village.
We were very welcomed by the villagers here !
They even offered us to come in their house and have some drinks.
Communication was the barrier but yet the warmth and their smile was the thing that warmth our hearts in this cold weather.

OSAKA !
OHHH!! I got a picture with a real SUMO on the street though~
So.... Me being a SUMO ?? And BILLIKEN ( Some gold statue)
is popular in Osaka and Everywhere in front of most shops
It's said touching it's foot would bring you wealth~
Tokyo- Meiji Jingu Shrine !
We got to witness a traditional Japanese wedding !
Surprisingly it was a mix marriage ~

And Shinjuku was AMAZINGLY Interesting !!
Erotic Robotic Shows~ and tiny bars which has cover charges was just something we could never find other parts of this planet !
NARA ! Is a place for Deer lovers especially !
I felt so sorry for the deers that got their antlers cut off ~
Oh well, It looks better on me though~ ;p
In KYOTO !
We had a HANAMI Party ( Drinking by the river)*under a cherry blossom tree*
which ZOMBIES!
Well, now, I can say Im an International Makeup Artist then ~
Even got the chance to makeup Japanese peeps as zombies ! :p

Here's some place in Kamakura - Sasuke Shrine whereby we found so many Naruto Statues !
This town is just so interesting !
We even found a Shrine that was hidden in a cave and that we had to shower our money for double blessings!

Here's some of our shopping in Japan !

ANd this boobies mousepad for about Rm18- 6 dollars!
Can you believe we got this for only RM15- 5 dollars !???OMG!!!
And here, in KL , we got back in a HELIPAD Lounge !
Awesome view of our KL tower with Sunset !

Also recently I have been busy with work and here's some of the artpeice of it ~
Keep updated to know more ~
And Do add my Facebook - FELICIA ZOE or instagram for my instant updates !
